At Minx our mission is to go beyond our clients expectations

At Minx we have a tiered pricing structure that allows you to choose the skill level and pricing you suit your personal needs and budget. What this means is, you pay more for a stylist more qualified and experienced and less to see one of our junior stylists.

Please be sure when booking your appointment you select the stylist name that suits your needs. You can visit our staff profiles under that "About Minx" Tab on our website.

All colour service prices listed are starting prices. Please be aware that price will vary depending on length, thickness and colour.


Timing listed is also a starting guide and your service may take longer. Listed times don't include colour processing time.

Please allow a minimum of 4 hours for any colour work.

We have launched a new colour system, as of 1st June 2025, called Vish that measures every gram of colour that we use for services. Now we can customise pricing for every client. If the standard amount of colour is used in a service; pricing will not change. However, if you require more colour than that, we can now calculate the additional cost for the service.

So, if we need to use extra colour, the additional amount will be added to your bill.

Rest assured we have full transparency when extra colour is used and we will let you know if there’s an increase in your charges. The great news is by now being able to customise not only your colour but your pricing, we are able to provide fair pricing for all of our customers. Our ultimate goal is to reduce the amount of product that we waste, saving you money and protecting our environment.

What Causes Fluctuations Price

The main things that will factor into needing additional colour are:

● How long it’s been since we’ve seen you

● How long and thick your hair is

● What you’d like to achieve with your colour

 

Bonding Treatment Recommendations

At Minx, the health of your hair is always our top priority. During your consultation, your stylist may recommend a bonding treatment to protect and strengthen your hair throughout chemical services such as colouring or lightening. Bonding services work by repairing and reconnecting internal hair bonds, reducing the risk of breakage, and improving overall shine and manageability.

If you choose to decline a recommended bonding treatment, please be aware that your hair may be more vulnerable to dryness, breakage, or damage. In these cases, Minx Contemporary Hair Boutique and our stylists cannot accept responsibility for any damage that may occur as a result of declining this protective service.
As of 1st Oct 2025, all clients that are declining bonding services once recommended by their stylist will need to sign a waiver.


Please be aware that prices are a guide only.
Extra product may be charged for longer or thicker hair.

As of 1st September 2024, all card, ZipPay, and Afterpay transactions will incur a fee of 1.75% plus 30 cents.

As of 23rd Oct 2023 all of our colours will include a Kerastase Fusio Dose Treatment

Please note, as of 1st Sep 2021, we are a Sustainable Salon.
Making Salon Waste History!
Sustainable Salons is a social enterprise that helps it's salon members, reduce their impact on the planet and invest in local communities.
This will incur a fee of $3 per service.

A $25 late fee will incur if you are more than 20 minutes late to your appointment. Over 20 minutes will still incur this $25 late fee, and your appointment may need to be rescheduled depending on the stylists availability for that day. 

 

From January 2020, we will be introducing deposits for all new clients , online bookings and for appointments over 4hrs long or any colour corrections and major colour changes.

This deposit will be automatically required when making an online booking.
A payment request link will be sent as a text,  or alternatively can be made via eftpos payment over over the phone and is non-refundable.
Our confirmation text messages go out 2 days prior to your booking, as a reminder.

If bookings are not confirmed within 48hrs we may cancel your appointment to make availability for other clients.

New clients who give less than 24hrs notice when cancelling appointments will unfortunately lose their deposit. Late cancellations/no-shows are a loss of business for us. We appreciate your understanding in this.
