Making Salon Waste History!
Sustainable Salons is a social enterprise that helps it's salon members, reduce their impact on the planet and invest in local communities.
This will incur a fee of $3 per service.

A $25 late fee will incur if you are more than 20 minutes late to your appointment. Over 20 minutes will still incur this $25 late fee, and your appointment may need to be rescheduled depending on the stylists availability for that day.
From January 2020, we will be introducing deposits for all new clients , online bookings and for appointments over 4hrs long or any colour corrections and major colour changes.
This deposit will be automatically required when making an online booking.
A payment request link will be sent as a text, or alternatively can be made via eftpos payment over over the phone and is non-refundable.
Our confirmation text messages go out 2 days prior to your booking, as a reminder.
If bookings are not confirmed within 48hrs we may cancel your appointment to make availability for other clients.
New clients who give less than 24hrs notice when cancelling appointments will unfortunately lose their deposit. Late cancellations/no-shows are a loss of business for us. We appreciate your understanding in this.

Our prices vary depending on the stylist and service. We recommend booking a complimentary consultation to get a personalized quote tailored to your hair needs. -
Do You Offer Complimentary Colour Consultations?
Yes, we do! We believe in meeting you and your hair first so we can give you the right advice and an accurate quote. Avoid any surprises and schedule your free consult today. -
What Are the Busiest Times at the Salon?
Evenings and weekends tend to fill up fast, so be sure to book ahead if those times work best for you. We can often accommodate weekday daytime appointments more flexibly. We do 2 late nights each week- Monday and Thursday until 9pm. -
Does It Matter What Shampoo & Conditioner I Use?
Yes, it does! Low-quality shampoos, especially those from supermarkets, can coat your hair with silicone, impacting colour results and lightening processes. We can recommend high-quality products to keep your hair healthy and your colour vibrant. Please be upfront before we begin your service if you have been using low-quality products as it can cause a chemical reaction. -
What If I Am Not 100% Satisfied With My Colour or Cut?
We offer complimentary adjustments within two weeks of your appointment. Communication is key, and we're always happy to make small tweaks to ensure you're in love with your hair. Please email and let us know, we want everyone to LOVE their hair when they leave our salon. -
How Long Will My Appointment Take?
The time varies by service, but here’s a rough guide:

Haircuts: 1 hour

Colour services: 2-3 hours

Lightening services: 3.5–5.5 hours depending on your hair thickness and goals.

Do You Require a Deposit?
Yes, we require a deposit for larger services, new clients, online bookings, special occasion hair, make up or if you’ve cancelled last-minute previously. The deposit will be deducted from your final service total or transferred if rescheduled within 48 hours of your appointment. The deposit is $50. -
What's Your Cancellation Policy?
We understand life happens! If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid losing your deposit. -
Where Can I Park?
We offer convenient parking right near the salon, street parking. Please note these are 1 hour parks only and they are metered. There is paid public car parks in Annand Street and Victoria Street. Reach out directly if you need specific directions or tips for the best spots. -
Do You Offer Smoothing Treatments?
Yes! We offer a range of smoothing systems tailored to your hair's needs, including keratin treatments that leave your hair sleek and shiny. Book a consultation to find out which system works best for your hair type. -
How Long Do Smoothing Treatments Last?
Typically, smoothing treatments last anywhere from 3 to 6 months, depending on your hair care routine and the products you use and type of curl. We recommend using only our salon-quality products to extend the life of your treatment. -
What Products Should I Use After My Smoothing Treatment?
After your smoothing treatment, we recommend using sulphate-free shampoos and conditioners to maintain the longevity of the results. Ask your stylist for our recommended products during your appointment. Product will vary on hair type and texture. A home hair care sheet will also be provided after your service to help guide you at home. -
Does Minx Have a Card Surcharge?
Yes, we apply a 1.75% fee plus 30c for card, ZipPay, and Afterpay transactions. Be sure to factor this in when paying with these methods. -
Do You Offer Bridal Services?
Yes, we love working with brides! Our team can create custom bridal hair looks to suit your unique style and vision. We also provide mobile services for wedding day convenience. But our absolute favourite spot is our in salon Bridal Suite, located on level 1. Talk about luxury! -
How Do I Sign Up for Minx’s Membership Program?
You can sign up for our exclusive membership program online via the Ezypay portal. Please check out our Membership Tab for more info. -
What Are Your Payment Options?
We accept all major credit cards, ZipPay, and Afterpay. Please note the 1.75% surcharge for card payments. Cash is also accepted. -
How Often Should I Get My Hair Trimmed?
We recommend a trim every 6-8 weeks to keep your hair healthy and split-end free, especially for those growing their hair out. -
Do You Offer Hair Extensions?
Yes! We offer weft extensions, specializing in creating a natural and seamless look. Consult with us to choose the best type and length for your lifestyle and hair goals. We will be launching Weft extensions in Jan 2025. Please visit our Hair Extensions tab for more info. -
What Happens If I Arrive Late to My Appointment?
If you're running late, please let us know as soon as possible. We may need to adjust your services to fit the remaining time, and if you’re over 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule or charge you a late fee of $25. -
Can I Bring My Child to My Appointment?
While we love kids, the salon is a space for relaxation, and we recommend arranging childcare. If you do need to bring your child, we ask that they are supervised at all times for their safety. -
Do You Offer Loyalty Programs or VIP Packages?
Yes, we have VIP packages. Please visit our VIP Packages tab for all the information and inclusions. We also offer a Retail Rewards program, thing Beauty Loop. Simply sign up to our Minx Movement newsletter and start shopping in salon or online! That simple! -
Do You Do Men's Cuts and kids cuts?
Yes, we cater to everyone! Our stylists are trained in men's grooming and can create a variety of styles, from classic cuts to trendy looks. Please note we don't offer cut throat razor shaves.
